An Iconic Nantucket-style Property in Historic Manteo

The Tranquil House Inn, the iconic Nantucket-style property on Manteo’s historic waterfront, was purchased by Carolina Retreats in 2020. Donnie Just and his father, Don, owned and operated the inn and its on-site restaurant, starting in 1993. The inn’s aesthetic was changed to its current Nantucket style in 2003. New owner, Mike Harrington, was a long-time resident of the Outer Banks, and has fond memories of this property because it is where he proposed to his wife in 2005. Harrington intends to remain loyal to the OBX traditions that date back generations, of a welcoming old Outer Banks friendliness with a touch of salt.
